Next, select the "soft light" from the drop down dialog box for the layer blending. I usually use soft light, hard light or overlay. Play with the blending options and see what effect you like I then adjusted the opacity of the duplicated layer to achieve the desired effect (usually between 20-30% opacity). STEP 17

Step 18 - adding noise
Sometimes, if a scan is "too clean" it looks a bit, well, artificial. There really is no hard and fast rule on what "too clean" is. Anyway, I decided to add some noise to the duplicated layer to maintain a hint of graininess. STEP 18 添加杂色
